Method Of Marketing

If you , like myself are a small business,looking for maximum roi,why do we sometimes fly by the seat of our pants in marketing? Oh ,small budgets or catch and release method.What i mean by catch and release you ask? We prepare you and I for three hours  for our trip to the local pond,river,or ocean where ever we to fish: we pack our snacks,drinks,bait,cushions,lines,sunscreen,rod n' reels,now we drive for 45 minutes to an hour.Once we arrive we put bait on the hooks,then cast the line,wait one or two hours for a bite,then bring the catch in,look at it,then release it back into the water.STOP,THINK is this your method of marketing? Maximum ROI?Okay,Okay our opinion we really want our consumers to associate yours and our products with positive emotion, ideas,and factors.As you can see companies donate to charities in order to be associated with being generous and sincere,other companies sponsors special events such as athletic events to be associated with teamwork,camaraderie,and the attitude.
Even if the linking factor between two aspects were only remotely related,consumers would go all out to support or defend that which they are associated with.
